OEM Software Defined Radio

SRT’s L-band Transceiver module is a small, modular, software programmable modem (SDR) capable of generating and detecting signals in the L-band satellite network frequencies. SRT's SDR can be easily configured to perform as a regular Mobile Earth Station (MES) or as the radio element of a simulated Land Earth Station (LES).

  • Software for ISO Layer 1 and Layer 2 functionality are commercially available for support of the 3rd generation Inmarsat, Thuraya, Iridium and ATC  satellite network applications.
  • The SDR’s unique architecture features two completely independent transmit and receive chains capable of 200 KHz channel bandwidth, with each chain having its own independent voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO). Both the transmit chain and receive chains are capable of being tuned to any frequency from 1525MHz thru 1660.5MHz with each chain having individual RF ports.
  • The programmability of the SDR is realized using both the onboard digital signal processor (DSP) and field programmable gate array (FPGA), with a majority of the demodulation and Digital up/down conversion within the FPGA. The SDR communication interface is via USB.
  • SRT's L-band SDR module includes a 12 channel GPS receiver, integrated software control interface for an external high power amplifier (HPA), software selectable voltage control for active antenna solutions and a multi-channel Master/Slave synchronization capability.
